Soustianous is a small village close to ***rta, located in Laconia, southern Greece, an altitude of 640 meters. The unique soil of the local and the regional climate, particularly in Taygetus North Mountain is perfect for the growth of high-quality olives. Residents¡¯ ancestors passed down the unique skills and love of homeland, making the Soustianous organic extra virgin olive oil to become the region's most representative products.
Soustianous organic extra virgin olive oil is the first organic olive oil production agriculture that received the European Union (EU) certification. No fertilizers or pesticides are used in the growth process of olives. Every harvest season, the residents of Soustianous will be picking olives in the traditional manual method to ensure that olives harvested produces oil with the lowest acidity. Fresh and whole olives are immediately transferred to the pressing plant after harvesting, after drained in cold water, then the olives are pressed for oil. Freshly made olive oil is then stored in special stainless steel container. The entire production process is completed under the supervision of relevant departments of European Union.
